MUDr. Vladimír Borůvka
MUDr. Borůvka is a renowned physician who has devoted his entire professional life to vascular imaging techniques and interventions. In our clinic, he focuses mainly on the examination of the carotid arteries, abdominal aorta and peripheral arteries of the extremities. In his 40 years of practice, he has examined more than 100,000 such patients.
In 1980 he graduated from the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague. He spent the first ten years of his career at IKEM in the radiodiagnostic department, where he was at the very beginning of vascular interventions in Czechoslovakia and where he was also behind the development of digital diagnostic methods, including Doppler vascular sonography. He was also involved in the transplantation programme.
Since 1990, he has been working at the Na Homolce Hospital, where until recently he was involved in the same field and was also a mentor to most of his younger colleagues.
He passed his first certificate in radiology in 1983 and the second in 1988. He passed his third attestation in 2006, this time in interventional vascular radiology.
He was a member of the committee of the Czech Society of Interventional Radiology and a member of the Czech Society of Radiology and the European Society of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology.
