doc. MUDr. Ondřej Petrák, Ph.D.
Doc. Petrák is an excellent and recognized specialist with 20 years of experience in cardiology, for the last 7 years he has also been working in internal medicine. Throughout his professional life he has been actively educating himself and expanding his specialty. His main expertise is the treatment of hypertension.
After graduating from the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in 2003, he started as a secondary physician at the 3rd Internal Medicine Clinic, Centre for Research, Diagnosis and Treatment of Hypertension at the General University Hospital in Prague. There he immediately continued his postgraduate studies in human physiology and pathophysiology on the topic "Alteration of the cardiovascular system in endocrine-dependent hypertension".
In 2007 he worked as an assistant professor at the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University. In 2008 he passed the certificate in cardiology. Since 2017 he is active as a Hypertension Specialist at the international non-profit institution European Society of Hypertension. In 2018 he passed the attestation in internal medicine. Since 2019, he has been working as an associate professor in internal medicine, 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague, since 2020 also as head of the internal medicine department, deputy chief and head of the department.
He is a member of the review committee of the Czech Society of Hypertension, Czech Society of Cardiology, Czech Society of Angiology, Czech Society of Internal Medicine, World and European Society of Hypertension.
He is regularly involved in professional publications.
